If you are putting yourself out there in the dating world, are you as safe as you can be?
While crimes can happen to men dating, the victims unfortunately tend to be women. As a result, make sure you are taking care of you and not being put in any precarious situations.
So, what can you do as a woman to have a safer dating life?
Always Put Your Safety as Top Priority
In having a safe and enjoyable dating life, remember these tips:
1. Be safe – Above all else, never put your safety in jeopardy when out dating. To start, make sure your first date and even maybe a couple more with someone are out in public venues. Given it takes a while to get to know someone; you do not want to be in a precarious position. If your date balks at not wanting to be in a public setting early on, move on to someone else. Even if you think you may like the person, never compromise your physical well-being. If a person has interest in you, they will completely understand why public venues are the way to go.
2. Know who you are dating – As important as a public setting is early on, also make it a point to know who you are going out with. You can go on the Internet and do an arrest warrant search with the person’s full name. In doing this, you can see if they in fact have a warrant out for their arrest. Be honest; most individuals are not going to volunteer such details. As such, you doing a little detective work will make you safer at the end of the day. In the event one you want to go out with does have a warrant out for their arrest, would you still consider dating them? It more times than not boils down to what the warrant involves. It could be something rather minor like not paying several traffic tickets. Then again, it could be a matter of higher importance. When it comes right down to it, you have to decide what is in your best interests.
3. Set expectations – Last, what are your expectations when it comes to dating? Are you looking for casual dating at this point in your life? If the answer is yes, then the likelihood of you or someone else wanting to rush into anything is rather low. Be upfront with them and let them know you are not looking for anything to involved right now. Now, if you are looking to meet the right person and get serious, you want to be sure you also inform them upfront. The worst thing you or they can do is not be honest with one another. By being direct to the point, both people tend to win.
If the person you are dating seems like a good catch, do all you can to make it work.
Then again, you may have to go through some dates to find the individual you in fact are searching for.
So, what are your expectations and hopes when it comes to the world of dating?
