Take good care of yourself with… salt

It may come as a surprise to you, but salt is one of the most convenient products when it comes to personal care. It doesn’t cost much, you can easily combine it with other ingredients and can be used to fix a wide range of health issues.

Salty body scrub
If you’re out of body scrub, you can quickly prepare your own by combining 2-3 tablespoons of sea salt with a tablespoon of olive oil and the juice from one lemon. Mix the salt and oil first, then add the lemon juice. Massage your skin while it’s still wet after shower, insisting on the areas where the skin is thicker. Besides its exfoliating effect, salt will also help with blood circulation and will reinvigorate the skin. Another choice is to simply add salt to your shower gel container and mix it well before use.

Get rid of puffy eyes
Dissolve a teaspoon of sea salt in a bit of warm water. Soak cotton pads in the mix and apply them around the eyes, with great care to not reach the eye. Wait for a few minutes, then wash with cold water.

Get some loose curls
If your hair is naturally wavy, you can quickly get some natural curls just by using the same sea salt and water mix. For a better effect, use a spraying bottle.

Rest your tired legs
Here’s how to prepare a relaxing bath to get rid of the “heavy legs” feeling. Fill a basin with warm water, add a handful of coarse salt, 2-3 teaspoons of lemon juice and 2 drops of rosemary essential oil. Rest your feet in the basin until the water starts to cool, then dry well and apply some Calendula cream.

DYI pimple removal
To cleanse your skin and help pimples dry quicker, add a teaspoon of sea salt to a cup of water and let it dissolve. Apply the mix using cotton pads, let it do its thing for a while, then wash the face with clean water.
