Tips for having perfect hands

Taking care of your face and keeping it young and fresh is very important, but don’t forget about your hands! The hands can betray the real age of your skin so they need all the attention you can give them. From your wrists to the tips of your nails, the  hands require rigorous care because the skin on this area of your body is low in sebaceous glands, can wrinkle and thus ages faster than the face.

Here are some tricks that will help you have silky, beautiful hands.

  • Use gentle soaps
Avoid aggressive soaps and lotions and instead choose milk based lotions for washing hands. Read the label before buying soap and avoid products containing triclosan. This is an antibacterial substance, but in good quality products it’s replaced by natural disinfectant, like tea tree oil or eucalyptus.
  • Avoid hot or too cold water
For washing hands, water must be room temperature – so neither very hot nor very cold – this way you will not completely remove fledgling layer of sebum from the hands.
  • Use oil for your hands
If you have oily skin, you can have dry hands – identify the type of skin on your hands to ensure their proper care. Very dry hands are most likely to age prematurely and natural oils provide them with necessary moisture. Make a weekly hands bath using olive oil and your hands will look and feel amazing.
  • Protect them from the sun in the summer but also in the winter
Hand skin is extremely sensitive to UV rays, so use sunscreen lotion in summer but also in winter. Additionally, use hand cream, because sun lotions tend to dry you skin.

Every day tip: use your anti ageing face cream to take care of your hands too!  They deserve the same pampering as your face does! And remember, that once the wrinkles have appeared on your hands, they will never go away!
